Terms of use
Last updated 21 October 2026
In short: Nullshape is a tool for making abstract art and video. What you make is yours. Pro is a yearly subscription or a one-time lifetime purchase, sold through Stripe. If Pro doesn't work for you, you can get your money back within 14 days.
1. Who we are
Nullshape (app.nullshape.com) is made by Elias Borenstein, Denmark. Contact: hello@nullshape.com. By using Nullshape you agree to these terms.
2. Your account
You can use Nullshape without an account. An account (Google or an emailed sign-in link) lets you save projects online and buy Pro. Keep access to your email account safe — it's how you sign in. You can delete your account at any time under ⋯ → Account → Delete account; this also deletes the projects saved online.
3. What you make is yours
You own the images, videos and projects you create, and any images or music you bring in. You can use your exports for anything, including commercial work. We only store and show your projects to you so the service works; we don't use them for anything else, and we never claim rights to them.
Only upload material you have the right to use. Don't use Nullshape for anything illegal, and don't try to break, overload or misuse the service.
4. Free and Pro
The free plan lets you use every effect in the editor. A few effects are marked Pro: you can try them freely, but exporting a piece that uses one needs Pro. Free exports also have limits (for example images up to 1024 px and 720p movies of up to 10 seconds, both with a small “Made with Nullshape” mark, and 5 projects online). Nullshape Pro removes those limits. The exact features of each plan are shown in the app and may change over time as the app grows; if a change takes away something you've paid for, you can ask for a refund for the remaining time.
- Yearly — Pro for one year, renewing automatically each year until you cancel. You can cancel at any time under ⋯ → Account → Manage subscription; Pro then stays on until the end of the year you've paid for.
- Lifetime — one payment, Pro for as long as Nullshape is offered, with no renewals. If you're on Yearly, your latest yearly payment counts toward Lifetime when you upgrade.
Prices are shown in the app, include tax, and may change for new purchases; a change never affects what you've already paid for, and Yearly subscribers are told before a new price applies to their renewal.
5. Payments
Purchases are processed by Stripe, which acts as the seller (merchant of record) for the transaction and handles payment, tax, receipts and billing questions. Stripe's own terms apply to the payment. We never see or store your card details.
6. Refunds
You can get a full refund within 14 days if Pro doesn't work for you, you were charged by mistake, or a yearly renewal caught you by surprise — see the refund policy.
7. The service
We work hard to keep Nullshape running and your projects safe, but it's provided “as is”, without guarantees that it will always be available or free of errors. Keep copies of work that matters to you — you can download any project as a file and export your pieces at any time. As far as the law allows, we aren't liable for indirect losses, and our total liability is limited to what you've paid us in the last 12 months. Nothing here limits rights you have as a consumer under the law of your country.
We may suspend accounts that break these terms. If we ever stop offering Nullshape, we'll give at least 60 days' notice so you can download your projects.
Flashing images. Some effects, and movies that react to music, can flash or flicker quickly. Flashing images can trigger seizures in people with photosensitive epilepsy, while you work and for people who watch what you make. If you are sensitive to flashing light, take care, and add a warning when you share pieces that flash.
8. Browsers and devices
Nullshape runs in your web browser — there's nothing to install, and the same tool opens on your phone, tablet or computer. It needs a browser with WebGL2 (the graphics support that draws the effects):
- Best: the latest Chrome, Edge, Firefox (on computers) or Samsung Internet, and Safari 16.4 or newer on Mac, iPhone and iPad.
- Works, without MP4: Firefox on Android and other up-to-date browsers that can't encode video. Editing, scenes and image export work; exporting movies needs one of the browsers above.
- Doesn't work: very old browsers and devices without WebGL2.
Pieces look the same in every supported browser. The largest exports (4K and above) need a device whose graphics can handle images that size; if yours can't, Nullshape exports at the largest size your device supports. Text set in Arial Black uses a close stand-in (Archivo Black) on devices that don't have Arial Black, such as Android phones. The free plan has every effect, so you can check that Nullshape runs well on your devices before you buy Pro.
9. Changes and law
We may update these terms; the date at the top shows the latest version, and important changes are announced in the app. These terms are governed by Danish law. If something goes wrong, please write to us first — we'll try to sort it out.
